Overview

Oakheart uses an emerald-based economy with carefully controlled currency flow. Emeralds enter the economy through spawn shops and exit through various sinks, creating a balanced trading environment.

Earning Emeralds

Spawn Shops

The primary way to earn emeralds is by selling items at the five spawn shops. Each shop is run by a themed NPC:

Shop
NPC
What They Buy

Miner

Stonebeard

Ores, gems, stone, redstone

Lumberjack

Willowbark

Logs, sticks, apples

Farmer

Seedsower

Crops, honey, berries

Alchemist

Moonwhisper

Mob drops, brewing ingredients

Fisherman

Tidecaller

Fish, ocean treasures

Daily Trade Limits

Each shop has per-player daily limits to control emerald generation. Limits reset at midnight server time.

Why limits? Without them, emeralds would flood the economy. Limits ensure everyone earns at a fair pace and keeps emeralds valuable.

For full trade tables showing every item, price, and daily limit, see the Spawn Shops page.

Player Shop Creation

Visit Quillfeather the Scribe at spawn to purchase Shopkeeper Spawn Eggs:

Cost

{{item:shop_creation_item}}

{{item:emerald:100}}

You need spawn eggs to place your player shops (ranks only give you permission slots). Deleting a shop refunds the egg, so you can reorganize without losing emeralds!

Claim Chunks

Expand your territory by purchasing {{item:claim_chunk}} from Quillfeather the Scribe:

Purchase
Cost

{{item:claim_chunk}}

{{item:emerald_block:40}} (360 emeralds)

{{item:claim_chunk:2}}

{{item:emerald_block:75}} (675 emeralds) — Save 45 emeralds!

Emerald Crate Keys

Buy a key to open the Emerald Crate for cosmetic rewards. Each key costs {{item:emerald:576}} ({{item:emerald_block:64}}). The Emerald Crate contains only cosmetics — no currency comes back out!

Toy Store

Visit the Toy Store NPC at spawn to buy novelty plushies for {{item:emerald:40}} each. There are 129 plushies across 12 collections, with rotating monthly stock. Collecting them all costs {{item:emerald:5160}}!

Other Sinks

  • Villager Trades — Regular villagers still accept emeralds (major sink for Mending books, enchants, tools)

  • Player Shops — Buy from other players

Why No Villager Emerald Farms?

Oakheart's economy is designed to prevent hyperinflation:

  1. Villagers don't give emeralds — They only sell items for emeralds

  2. Spawn shops have limits — You can't farm infinite emeralds

  3. Raid cooldown — 24-hour cooldown prevents raid emerald farming

  4. Multiple sinks — Ways to spend emeralds keep them valuable

This means emeralds are always valuable—no massive villager halls breaking the economy!
