Overview

Oakheart features a custom gear progression system that extends beyond vanilla Netherite. Visit Hammerhand the Smith at spawn to upgrade your equipment into powerful Reforged and ultimate Hardened gear.

The Progression Path

All upgrades happen through Hammerhand the Smith, a gruff dwarf-like NPC at spawn. Each item follows a 3-tier path — click any row to see materials and enchantments.

Hardened Ingots

Before crafting Hardened gear, you must create Hardened Ingots—special alloys crafted at Hammerhand's second shop.

circle-info

Ingots are expensive! Each {{item:hardened_netherite_ingot}} costs 27+ Netherite and 108 emeralds. Plan your crafting carefully. There are also {{item:hardened_gold_ingot}} and {{item:hardened_copper_ingot}} used for different gear pieces.

Why Efficiency VIII?

Efficiency VIII + Haste II beacon = instant deepslate mining

This specific breakpoint makes Hardened tools feel truly endgame. Regular mining becomes effortless.

Tips for New Smiths

  1. Start with tools — {{item:reforged_pickaxe}} makes farming other materials easier

  2. Expect a journey — Reforged gear takes weeks, Hardened takes months of gathering

  3. Stockpile emeralds — You'll need hundreds of {{item:emerald_block}}

  4. Explore all dimensions — Materials come from Overworld, Nether, End, and structures

  5. Use Token Trader — Weekly smith materials available for vote tokens

  6. Check crates — Vote Crate can drop smith materials ({{item:echo_shard}}, {{item:ancient_debris}})

  7. Plan your path — Decide which Hardened items you want first
