Community Guidelines

Oakheart SMP is a community-focused survival server emphasizing player interaction, physical shops, and collaborative gameplay. We aim to create a welcoming medieval cottagecore village atmosphere.

Quick Rules

1. Be respectful — No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or bullying

2. No cheating — No X-ray, hacking, duping, or exploiting (= permanent ban)

3. No griefing — Don't break/steal from others' builds (claimed or unclaimed)

4. Claim your builds — Use /lands create <name> then /lands claim

5. Trade safely — Use /trade <player> for secure trades

6. Respect the economy — Don't exploit shop limits or raid cooldowns

7. PvP is opt-in only — Use /pvp to enable consensual combat

8. Report issues — Open a ticket on Discord

Respect & Behavior

DO:

• Be kind and respectful to all players

• Use appropriate language in public chat

• Help new players learn the server

• Report rule violations to staff

DON'T:

• Use slurs, hate speech, or discriminatory language

• Harass, bully, or target other players

• Spam chat or commands

• Advertise other servers

Consequences: Warning → Mute (1hr-permanent) → Ban

Griefing & Theft

All claimed land is protected. But griefing unclaimed builds is still against the rules.

DO:

• Respect all territory (claimed or not)

• Ask permission before building near others

• Report griefing immediately via Discord

DON'T:

• Grief, destroy, or modify others' builds

• Steal from chests or containers

• Kill other players' pets or animals

• Build offensive structures

Consequences: Rollback + Ban (7 days to permanent)

Cheating & Exploits

Consequences: Permanent ban (no appeals for hacking/duping)

DO:

• Play fairly using vanilla Minecraft mechanics

• Report bugs and exploits to staff immediately

• Use approved client-side mods

DON'T:

• Use hacked clients, X-ray, or cheat mods

• Exploit bugs or glitches

• Dupe items or currency

• Use alt accounts to bypass limits

• Use macros/autoclickers for AFK farming

Approved Mods

• Optifine/Sodium (performance)

• Litematica (schematic viewer only, no printer)

• MiniMap mods (no entity radar, no cave mapping)

• Shaders

• Inventory tweaks/sorting

• Simple Voice Chat

When in doubt about a mod, ask staff before using it.

Economy & Trading

DO:

• Trade fairly and honor agreements

• Use /trade for safe player trades

• Respect shop prices and stock limits

DON'T:

• Scam or mislead other players

• Exploit shop stock limits or cooldowns

• Create "emerald generators" via villager exploits

• Trade real money for in-game items (except official store)

Consequences: Warning → Trade restrictions → Temp ban → Economy reset + ban

Claims & Land Use

DO:

• Claim all builds you want protected

• Leave 64+ blocks between your claims and others

DON'T:

• Build offensive structures (hate symbols, NSFW builds)

• Claim around others to box them in

• Bypass claim protections

Inactive Claims: Claims inactive for 90+ days may be removed after staff review.

Chat Rules

DO:

• Keep chat friendly and welcoming

• Use English in public chat

• Use /msg <player> for private conversations

DON'T:

• Spam chat or commands

• CAPS LOCK SPAM

• Discuss controversial topics

• Bypass chat filters

PvP

Default: PvP is disabled

Use /pvp to enable consensual combat. Only PvP with consenting players.

DON'T:

• Kill players without consent

• Trap players in PvP zones

• Abuse PvP mechanics to grief

Redstone & Lag

DO:

• Build efficient redstone contraptions

• Turn off farms when not in use

• Report lag sources to staff

DON'T:

• Build lag machines

• Create massive entity farms

• Use excessive hoppers or redstone clocks

Consequences: Warning → Farm removal → Temp ban

Punishment Guidelines

Mute Durations

1. 1 hour

2. 6 hours

3. 24 hours

4. 7 days

5. Permanent

Ban Durations

• Minor (chat spam, accidental grief): 1-3 days

• Moderate (theft, intentional grief, scamming): 7-30 days

• Major (hacking, duping, severe harassment): Permanent

Appeals

Bans 7+ days can be appealed on Discord. Permanent bans for hacking/duping are typically not appealable.
